Fight4Hope joins our Fundraising Group family

We are pleased to be welcoming Fight4Hope to our family of Fundraising Groups.

Amani Liaquat was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) after collapsing at home on her 22nd birthday in April 2020. Faced with extremely limited options in the UK, the family had to source lifesaving treatment from Germany. Thanks to the generosity of family, friends and complete strangers, more than £100,000 was raised in just 24 hours to help Amani access a new trial drug.

The family has worked with Brain Tumour Research to share Amani’s story, helping to raise awareness and supporting our #BrainTumourPetition and Stop the Devastation campaigns, as well as undertaking some amazing fundraising activities. The family also organised a Walk of Hope in Luton last weekend.

Now, they have set up Fight4Hope to raise funds to support vital research in order to find treatments that will provide hope for Amani and all patients facing a brain tumour diagnosis.

Amani’s mum, Yasmin, said: “As a family we have been on the most horrendous journey anyone can find themselves navigating. It is our hope that one day other families will not have to suffer in this way and will have access to better treatment options and outcomes.

“For this reason, we have set up the Fight4Hope Fundraising Group for Brain Tumour Research. We will do everything in our power, with the amazing help and support of family and friends, to help raise as much as we can to help fund vital research into this devastating disease.”

Text FIGHT4HOPE to 70085 to donate £5. Texts cost £5 plus one standard rate message.
