General election results and Brain Tumour Research

1 min read

The UK’s General Election has returned a majority parliament, Brain Tumour Research looks forward to working with the Government to improve outcomes for brain tumour patients and their families. We were pleased to see all parties commit more spending to health and science during the campaign and we will be pushing for brain tumour research to receive its fair share.

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Brain Tumours (APPGBT), for which Brain Tumour Research provides the Secretariat, will be re-established in due course and we hope to hold the first meeting in early 2020. The APPGBT will continue to raise awareness of the issues facing the brain tumour community in order to improve research, diagnosis, information, support, treatment and care outcomes.

Brain Tumour Research will also work with all MPs, both those returning to Parliament and those newly-elected, to ensure that the interests of the brain community are protected during the Brexit process.
