Lab Tours

National brain tumour research funding needs to increase to £30-35 million a year

Visit one of our Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence and join a lab tour. Get up close and personal to the research, and hear about the latest ground-breaking research updates first-hand from our expert world-class scientists.

Lab tours are usually a mix of presentation about the research, followed by a walk through the facilities, where our scientists will introduce you to various aspects of their work and how they are looking at various ways to fight this devastating disease.

You can ask questions about the research and understand how the work undertaken is getting us closer to a cure.

Our lab tours often coincide with a formal placing of special commemorative tiles on a Wall of Hope. These tiles represent funds raised to sponsor a day of research and are a permanent recognition of the efforts of our amazing supporters and often form a lasting tribute to loved ones lost to a brain tumour.

Lab tours are popular - it's inspiring to see how people leave with so much new knowledge and passion to redouble their fundraising efforts. Places on our lab tours are limited so in order to register your interest, please email us in the first instance at and be sure to provide some background on yourself along with a contact phone number, and which Centre you're interested in visiting, and then someone in our team will get back you within two days.

Check out our short video of a virtual tour around our Centre in the University of Portsmouth, featuring Lead Scientist, Professor Geoff Pilkington.
