National brain tumour research funding needs to increase to £35 million a year

Brain Tumour Research appoints Director of Marketing and Communications

Brain Tumour Research is pleased to welcome Andrea Abbis to the role of Director of Marketing and Communications.

Andrea joined Brain Tumour Research earlier this month and oversees our Marketing, Digital Marketing, and PR and Communications teams, working to increase the profile of the charity, increase awareness, maximise engagement and inspire supporters.

Prior to joining the charity sector, Andrea had extensive experience in the retail sector, holding senior commercial and marketing roles at Debenhams, Sainsbury’s and Argos.

Andrea said: “I have a very personal reason to join the fight to find a cure for brain tumours as this cause is very close to my heart. Leanne, my niece, was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma tumour at the age of 23. She is now 33 and doing well, but it has been a difficult time for her and she still lives with the impacts. Having seen what Leanne has been through I am hoping that by joining the team I can play my part in helping to raise the awareness of this terrible disease so that the right level of support is invested and a cure can be found.”

We look forward to working with Andrea as we continue to strive towards our vision of finding a cure for brain tumours.
