Join our 5km circular countryside walk around Woodbank Park.
Step forward for our Walk of Hope Stockport and help find a cure for brain tumours.
With lots of open spaces, Woodbank Park is the ideal location for this leisurely 5km stroll suitable for both adults and children. Starting at Bredbury St Marks Cricket Club, we will take a circular scenic route following the countryside paths crossing Arden Bridge where wild garlic can be found growing by the River Goyt and elderflower can be found growing by the footpath.
Taking the route past Goyt Hall Farm, a circa 1570 Grade 11 listed building with its duck pond and fine horses in the fields, we will follow Dark Lane a public bridleway, back to Bredbury St Marks Cricket Club where refreshments will be available to purchase.

Due to some uneven surfaces this walk is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs
Dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead at all times. (Please note that dogs are not allowed inside the cricket club)
Free parking and toilet facilities are available at Bredbury St Marks Cricket Club.
A Christmas Stall will be open for the opportunity to buy Brain Tumour Research Christmas cards, wrapping paper plus much more
Due to unprecedented demand, we currently have limited stock of our Walk of Hope children’s t-shirts. If the t-shirt size you have requested is out of stock, we will provide you with an alternative Brain Tumour Research branded t-shirt.
Registration Fees
- £10 per adult (aged 18 and over)
- £5 per child (aged 11-17)
- £1 per child (aged 10 and under)
