Sponsor a Day

Help us fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.

Can you Sponsor a Day of research - or maybe more?

Research costs money

To sustain long-term peer-reviewed research at our UK Centres of Excellence, we are striving to help each of our Research Centres to raise £1 million a year.

That’s £2,740 per day, per Centre.

The funding we and our partner organisations provide helps pay for a team of specialist researchers and support staff, headed by a professor or consultant clinician.

Working at the cutting-edge of research, our researchers need a constant supply of specialist items to carry out their vital work. Our funding also helps to supply the materials and consumables that are used on a daily basis, such as disposable micropipette tips, surgical gloves, microplates, bottles of tissue culture media, serum, assay kits, etc.

Place your special tile on our Wall of Hope

Each of our Centres has a Wall of Hope on which we recognise sponsors and loved ones lost to a brain tumour. When you raise £2,740, you can have a unique tile, including a special message, placed on our Wall of Hope at the Centre of your choice. You can repeat this every time you reach that milestone target.

We'll work closely with you to create your tile/s, which typically include the name of a loved one being remembered or treasured. We help you to find the right dates on the Wall for you to sponsor – for example, a birthday or other date that has some special significance to you.

At the time of ordering your first tile/s, you'll also be offered a one-off special engraved glass keepsake to keep at home as well. This is typically gifted to you at the same you visit the lab to place your tile/s for the first time.

Placing a tile is an opportunity to pause, reflect and show respect. It is usually done at end of a lab tour where you see research in action and meet the scientists.

Each year panel in a Wall of Hope lasts for five years and would then be replaced. For example, 2015 year panels were replaced with 2020 year panels. Messages from tiles placed on the old panels will be transferred into a special Book of Hope and replica tiles can be produced to keep at home if that's what you would like. In time, we would also hope to create a special Legacy Wall of Hope at each Centre and use this as a lasting tribute to all who have sponsored days of research.

Charity of the Year Partners Can Sponsor Days of Research

Organisations that have chosen Brain Tumour Research as their Charity of the Year often set targets to raise funds for multiple days. Indeed, if you and your colleagues collectively raise £19,180, that’s equivalent to sponsoring an entire week of vital research, which would be amazing!

This would earn your organisation seven tiles on one of our Walls of Hope, the designs of which can include your organisation's logo, the name of your fundraising event, as well as the names of any employees and/or loved ones being remembered or honoured.

We'll work with you to find the specific days you’d like to sponsor – for example, dates that have some special significance to you or your organisation.

In addition, we also offer a special engraved glass keepsake to display in recognition of your organisation's support.
