Charity of the Year (or Years!)

Partnering with us is a fantastic way to get your whole company united around our cause and we can offer your employees engaging opportunities that will help increase staff retention, loyalty and motivation.

The UK's largest housing group, Clarion Housing Group, partnered with Brain Tumour Research after colleague Darel Bryan died from a brain tumour, aged 34. Over the years, Clarion has raised more than £300,000 to help find a cure in Darel’s memory.

“Staff voted overwhelmingly to support Brain Tumour Research. We promised we would do everything we could to make our fundraising a success, including matching every pound that was raised by staff. So, after just one year, I was thrilled to present a cheque for a staggering £80,000 for Brain Tumour Research.” - Ruth Cooke, Chief Executive, Clarion Housing Group

Cause-related Marketing

KuSan-hats

Cause-related marketing is a great way to link your brand or product with our charity and increase sales and customer engagement.

After losing several family members to brain tumours, founders of the ethical hat brand KuSan were inspired to design two special bobble hats knitted in our brand colours to add to their range, along with a selection of branded bobble hat keyrings.

Brain tumours are indiscriminate and can affect anyone at any age, and sadly the disease has been really prevalent in our close family. Over the last 20 years, three of our relatives have died from brain tumours.

“Seeing the devastation that the disease causes was our inspiration and, as we specialise in hats, it made sense to support Brain Tumour Research in this way. The bobble hats are a stylish way to contribute to a really important cause and we hope we can raise a significant amount for the charity.” – Sandra Fritzsch

Sponsor a Day

research-sponsor

Your organisation can sponsor a day (or more) of research at our UK Centres of Excellence and place bespoke tiles, including your logo, on our Walls of Hope to recognise your contribution.

National law firm, Bolt Burdon Kemp, kindly chose to Sponsor a Day of Research at our Plymouth Research Centre during International Brain Tumour Awareness Week in 2020.

“I am proud that I get to help people who have suffered as a result of negligent treatment and I get to form relationships and fundraise for charities, such as Brain Tumour Research, who drive research into treatments that could end up improving the lives of millions of people.” – Tom Lax, Associate Solicitor, Bolt Burdon Kemp

Corporate Challenge

Challenge events are not only a great way to raise funds to support our work, but can help inspire employees with engaging activities, helping to encourage teamwork and camaraderie.

Listed property company, Stenprop Management Limited, chose to support Brain Tumour Research as a number of colleagues have connections to the disease. Stenprop raised more than £5,000 with a “Clocktober” challenge, which saw colleagues running, cycling or swimming 75 miles throughout October to mark the acquisition of its 75th estate.

“We are proud to be collaborating with Brain Tumour Research. Their bespoke approach to our relationship has inspired our staff, giving them personal and professional development opportunities unique to the charity sector.” – Simon Ross, Head of Asset Management, Stenprop

Gifts in Kind

lab-filming

We know that not every business can afford to give money to charities. By offering your skills or donating products you can help us to keep our costs down, enabling us to invest in more vital research.

Visual Realms donated their expertise and visual reality technology to create an interactive 360° virtual tour of our Centre of Excellence at the University of Plymouth. The tour provides supporters with an exciting virtual experience of the research being carried out there.

“We pride ourselves on being able to create virtual tours in difficult and sensitive environments. Capturing the lab tour at Plymouth was a good fit for us as although it is no replacement for visiting, it shows the quality of what’s already there. We were delighted to be helping a very worthy cause.” – Iain Row, Managing Director, Virtual Realms

Our fun suite of events brings whole businesses together, from Boards of Directors to the most junior staff. Our wide-ranging expertise helps maximise your fundraising objectives and achieve ambitious targets.

Insurance company, Zurich, supports the charity in memory of Amanda Pay, a much-loved colleague who passed away from a brain tumour in April 2018. Amanda’s colleagues have taken part in our annual Wear A Hat Day since 2018 and over the years, Zurich has raised more than £24,000.

“Zurich has been wonderfully supportive in my team’s mission to raise money for Brain Tumour Research and Zurich Community Trust have kindly agreed to match any money we raise with an extra 50% donation. We have a fabulous opportunity to make a huge difference to this amazing charity. So little is known about what causes brain tumours and more research is vital if we are to find a cure for this devastating disease.” – Wendy Fearnley, Executive Secretary, Zurich.
