Hundreds of supporters came out in force to support Brain Tumour Research’s biggest awareness raising event of the year.

From berets to beanies, flat caps to fascinators, our wonderful community came together to help put Wear A Hat Day (28th March) in the spotlight with hattastic fundraising events up and down the UK.

The Brain Tumour Research team at Hat HQ donned an array of headgear for a ‘best hat’ competition, bake sale, quiz, raffle and more (above), while in nearby Bedfordshire, the Last of the Summer Ukuleles (pictured top) were treating audiences to a lively performance and collecting donations in memory of Holly Atkins Fooks who was just 11 when she died of a glioblastoma (GBM).

At Ongar Leisure Centre in Brentwood, swimming instructor Carol Melvin (below) hosted a coffee and cake morning raising more than £1,300 in remembrance of her daughter Ria who died of a GBM aged 25.

And shoppers at Tesco in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, were greeted by Barry Holbrook (below), boasting our trademark bright pink t-shirt and hat, where he and wife Angela have held a Wear A Hat Day fundraising event every year since they lost their son Steve, aged 37, to a GBM.

Our Patron Danny Clarke, known as The Black Gardener, who also lost his sister Margot McLellan to a GBM, wore our iconic pink silk top hat (below), created by Lock and Co., the world’s oldest hat shop in his quest to help raise awareness of this devastating disease.

And actor and producer Craig Russell (below), who underwent surgery for a meningioma last year and helped launch our manifesto at Westminster this month, took to social media in a baseball cap to urge people to support our cause.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this Wear A Hat Day a huge success!

There is still time to donate and help bring hope to patients and their families devastated by this disease. Together, we can make a difference.
