Scientists working at the forefront of pioneering research into brain tumours are coming together for the annual researcher workshop organised by Brain Tumour Research.
More than 80 brain tumour experts will congregate in Milton Keynes – home to the charity’s head office – for a packed two-day programme of presentations and talks from a variety of speakers.
Attendees will hear updates on the research being undertaken across our four Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellences, as well as from BRAIN UK – the national virtual brain tissue bank – and there will be a session updating on the Patient Research Involvement Movement (PRIME) initiative, which we are proud to fund in partnership with our sister charity, brainstrust. There will be talks from the Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission and Cancer Research UK, as well as speakers from other organisations.
We are also looking forward to welcoming Nicola Nuttall, a well-known member of the brain tumour community, and a passionate advocate and campaigner for patients and their loved ones.
Nicola’s daughter, Laura, was 18 when she was diagnosed with a glioblastoma (GBM) in 2018. Sadly, Laura died earlier this year on Monday 22nd May, at the age of 23.
