Eddie shines a light on our Advent Appeal

Behind day 17 of our Advent Appeal, Eddie Adams is shining a light on the important work that Brain Tumour Research does and the need for increased funding to bring about a cure.

Eddie was diagnosed with an anaplastic astrocytoma in November 2017 at the age of 29. He underwent an awake craniotomy but a post-operative infection meant surgeons had to remove part of his skull, leaving him with hair loss and a large dent in his head.

Eddie, 35, was originally given three to five years to live but has now outlived his prognosis and is looking forward to spending Christmas – his sixth since he found out he had a brain tumour – with his family.

A successful drag queen on the Brighton scene before his diagnosis, Eddie said it is thanks to the research dedicated to finding a cure for this disease that he is here to see another Christmas – but much more needs to be done.

He added: “We really, really need your help. Donate whatever you can afford. Together we can find a cure.”
