Brain tumour widow urges support for our Advent Appeal

A mum-of-two who lost her husband to a brain tumour is urging people to donate what they can to Brain Tumour Research and help future generations this festive season.

Victoria Keenan’s husband Nick passed away in November 2020 aged 34, when their twin daughters were just 17 months old.

Victoria, who is behind day 14 of our Advent Appeal, asks everyone to join the fight against brain tumours, which are the biggest cancer killer for children and adults under the age of 40.

Nick, from West Sussex, was diagnosed with an astrocytoma in 2015. Despite two debulking surgeries, radiotherapy, infusion and oral chemotherapy, prescription cannabinoids and a number of natural remedies, he died nine months after being told his tumour had developed into a glioblastoma (GBM).

Victoria, 36, said: “The only way to improve treatment options, or indeed find a cure, is through research. We owe it to our loved ones to do more now.”
