YOU are getting us closer to a cure for brain tumours

Every day, you amaze us with your commitment to our cause, raising millions of pounds and increasing vital awareness of brain tumours to help us fund the fight against this devastating disease.

As 2025 comes to a close, here are a few of the ways you’ve made a difference this year.

£8.7 million raised to help find a cure

Our last financial year ended on an extraordinary high and was our most successful fundraising year to date. That’s all thanks to you.

Once again, thousands of you joined our flagship campaigns, donning your best headgear for Wear A Hat Day and stepping up for our Walk of Hope, raising more than half a million pounds in the process.

Bake sale, abseils, head shaves, tombolas, skydives, marathons, charity singles and much more, there were no limits to the ways you got involved to raise money this year. You walked, jogged, cycled and squatted your way to success through our series of digital challenges, making them more successful than ever before. Our calendar of events is ever-growing and we’re blown away by the epic challenges you complete for our cause all across the UK.

Collaboration is key and our close partnerships with our family of Member Charities, corporate partners, regional workplaces and trusts and foundations have been invaluable in driving scientific progress this year. Significantly, our game-changing partnership with Beatson Cancer Charity saw the opening of our fifth Research Centre at the start of the year – our first in Scotland – marking real progress towards finding new treatments and cures.

A record-breaking Brain Tumour Awareness Month

March is a key month in the brain tumour community’s calendar and this year, more of you than ever before came together to help shine a spotlight on this devastating disease. Thousands lit candles and shared photos on social media in support of our #ShineALight campaign, iconic landmarks across the UK shone in pink and yellow to show their support of our efforts to Light up the UK and you helped us celebrate 15 years of impact as we published our Closer to a Cure report.

Thanks to you, more people than ever before are aware of our cause and involved in helping further the fight to find a cure.

Building our family of Patrons and Ambassadors

Our Patrons and Ambassadors help us raise valuable awareness, open doors to new opportunities and connections, help to amplify our campaigning and undertake their own fundraising to help find a cure for brain tumours. This year, we’ve been proud to welcome broadcaster Sarah Beeny, music mogul Pete Waterman OBE, Craig Russell, Olympic athlete Sam Reardon, actor Charles Dale, our co-founder Sue Farrington Smith MBE, influencer Abi Feltham and rugby powerhouses Vicky and Tom Chapman to our family of Patrons and Ambassadors, each with their own deeply personal connection to our cause.

And our cohort of high-profile supporters have proven they’re not all talk, with a bumper crop of fundraising activity including raffles to win money-can’t-buy memorabilia, cross-country motorcycle adventures, epic Battle Cancer and Crossfit challenges and more.

And there’s much more to come in 2026!
