Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer

Hat-tastic inspiration from colleges and universities

by User Not Found

Every year on Wear A Hat Day, colleges and universities up and down the country help to fundraise and raise awareness for research into brain tumours – all whilst wearing their most extravagant hats! They’re among our biggest supporters and, in order to acknowledge their valued contribution and inspire others in their footsteps, here are just a few examples of their great work:

Loughborough University

Hat-fever swept the Loughborough University campus after staff in the Pilkington Library Café started fundraising for us. It wasn’t long before other departments joined in their efforts with a raffle, bake sale, merchandise sale and quiz raising £1,000!

South Downs College

The Student Union at South Downs College in Hampshire pushed the boat out for Wear A Hat Day by hosting a bake sale, selling merchandise and collecting donations.

University of Portsmouth

Staff and students at the University of Portsmouth are long-standing supporters of Wear A Hat Day, and they always make sure the event is a great success. The Department of Sports and Recreation has some wonderful ideas for getting involved such as wearing your silliest hat to a gym class, hosting a hat selfie competition, or simply wearing your biggest and boldest hat to work.
