Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer

Thank you from Brain Tumour Research

by Elise O'Kelly

hope-tree-plymouth-2016-7Dear Friends,

2016 has been a year of change.

Over 120,000 of you signed our e-petition, leading to a groundbreaking brain tumour debate at Westminster. Promises were made to take action to address the historic underfunding for brain tumour research, and the first meeting of the Government’s Task and Finish Working Group in October, put those wheels in motion. Please keep an eye out on our website and social media feeds for updates in 2017.

This is not the only leap forward. In October 2016, we launched our latest statistics report on national funding. This revealed a troubling status quo in research funding, whilst brain tumour incidents continue to rise. The report gained national press coverage and will underpin our campaigning activities during 2017.

Finally, we’ve had our best ever year of fundraising and have now crossed the £10million mark for all-time funds raised! We cannot say thank you enough for your tireless and loyal support, without which we would not be able to continue our mission of building a network of experts in sustainable research and finding a cure for this devastating disease.

Thank you for your generosity, your strength and your voice.

We look forward to making even more progress, with you, in 2017.

Love and thoughts,

Sue Farrington Smith, Chief Executive.
