National brain tumour research funding needs to increase to £35 million a year

SUCCESS Charity Fifth Annual Conference

The SUCCESS Charity, which exists to enable brighter futures for childhood brain tumour survivors, will hold its fifth Annual Conference virtually this Saturday (6th November).

The conference will be an opportunity to share experiences and make friends with other survivors, siblings and parents, and to listen to inspirational speakers. It is a great chance to gain knowledge and interact with esteemed health professionals and policy-makers.

A varied agenda will include a charity update, advice on accessing targeted support from mainstream education and employment, why informed assessments at key maturational stages are important, and the need for pituitary specialist services for children with pituitary tumours

There will also be workshops with subjects including:

  • Legal Advocacy for Education and Employment Support
  • Supported Return to Mainstream Education and Employment
  • SUCCESS Peer to Peer Mentoring ‘Helping our Own’
  • Telerehabilitation

There is still little awareness of how a brain tumour affects a child’s developmental future and the SUCCESS Charity and this event are both dedicated to improving this awareness. At Brain Tumour Research we are very supportive of this conference and will be attending virtually, and, as last year, have been pleased to facilitate a short video talk from the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Brain Tumours (APPGBT), Derek Thomas MP.

The conference will take place from 9am – 2pm. You can register to join here.
