National brain tumour research funding needs to increase to £35 million a year

Denise Van Outen and Lydia Bright to hike across the Himalayas to raise money for Brain Tumour Research

Our celebrity supporters Denise Van Outen and Lydia Bright will be taking on a 52-mile trek across the Himalayas next month to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.

The expedition will begin on Bonfire Night. Denise, who has her own experience with the deadly illness as her friends Nicki Waterman and Richard Hopkins have both died from brain tumours in the last five years, spoke about the importance of raising money for the charity: "Many of us have experience of losing someone to a brain tumour, which shockingly kills more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Yet just one per cent of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to brain tumours, so we're doing our bit to help."
