What is Wear A Hat Day?

What is Wear A Hat Day?

Wear A Hat Day is the UK’s biggest brain tumour research fundraising event. Every year, thousands of people across the UK don their favourite headgear and take part in hat-themed events in their local communities.

Get involved and organise an event with your family, friends and colleagues. Your support will help find a cure for brain tumours.

What’s the history of Wear A Hat Day?

We launched Wear A Hat Day in 2010 so 2019 is our 10th year!

Since 2010, Wear A Hat Day has raised over £1 million thanks to your hatty exploits!

Over the years, we've had amazing support from the general public as well as our Patrons and Celebrity Supporters, including Debbie McGee, Denise Van Outen and John Bercow, to name just a few.

What's the connection between hats and brain tumours?

The connection is simple. Wearing a hat is not only fashionable, stylish and fun, but it also draws attention to the head and brain tumours, a devastating and at times ‘invisible disease’.

Wearing a hat or one of our specially designed hat-themed pin badges on Wear A Hat Day is a sign of support for Brain Tumour Research, our mission and all those living with, or lost to, a brain tumour.
