  • Get crafty and create your own flowery hats – use real flowers or create your own by paper crafting, knitting, crocheting or however you like – challenge your loved ones to a competition and offer a prize for the most flamboyant floral creation
  • Host a quiz themed around horticulture and, of course, hats – create an event on Facebook and share it widely to get all your friends, family and community to join in
  • Do a sponsored walk and see how many flowers you can spot along your walk – why not ask people to sponsor you £1 for every different kind of flower you can find and share photos as you go
