Walk of Hope Ellesmere

Challenge event categories
Step forward for our Flagship Walk of Hope in Ellesmere and help find a cure for brain tumours.
This new walk in Shropshire is inspired by our Fundraising Group, Aaron’s Army, set up in memory of Aaron Wharton who passed away in April, aged just seven and in memory of Ella McCreadie who sadly passed away in December, aged just 13. It is also for all those families and friends impacted by brain tumours.
This brand-new walk which follows a route around The Mere, will take you the whole way around the lake on a route not normally available to the public. We are delighted that Oteley Estate have agreed to open up their beautiful land so that we can offer this unique opportunity to the supporters of Brain Tumour Research.
The Mere is a beautiful lake with gardens, woodland and historic parkland on the edge of the market town of Ellesmere in Shropshire. It is the largest of nine meres and mosses to be found in the unique Shropshire landscape, covering more than 48 hectares (that’s more than 70 football pitches!)
Our venue, a Green Flag Award site, is one of the UK’s best green spaces. Boasting the Mere-side promenade, gardens, the Boathouse Restaurant and a visitor centre and the varied Cremorne Gardens – there really is something for everyone.
There will be a number of food stalls, craft stalls and activities available on the day. Please keep checking back on this page, as we hope to be adding lots of extra things to this walk!
Dogs on leads are also welcome.
