The 4/4/48 Challenge was made famous by David Goggins, an ex-Navy Seal, who made billionaire Jesse Itzler do it in the book ‘Living With A Seal‘. Out of the many workouts in the book, Jesse Itzler describes the 4/4/48 challenge as the hardest challenge he has ever done! The Challenge involves running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours. Nearly 2 marathons in 2 days! (Please note if you would prefer to cycle, the equivalent challenge is cycling 12 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours).
What makes the Challenge so immensely difficult is the combination of sleep deprivation, waking up to run in the middle of the night, muscle fatigue and the endurance required to complete it. Trust me it's gruelling!
The event was started by the Wake Fundraising Group on Father’s Day weekend in 2020 in memory of Jonathan Wake, who passed away due to the Brain Tumour. His sons wanted to complete a challenge that would make their Father proud. After raising £21,250 last year, this year they are inviting others to complete the challenge and raise money for their own personal reasons whilst joining a loving community of people running the challenge over the same weekend.
Once you sign up you will receive a FREE Brain Tumour Research t-shirt and be added to the Facebook group of people completing the Challenge on Father's Day weekend from all over the world!Registration fee: £10 per participant (this includes a FREE Brain Tumour Research t-shirt)
