24hr Rush

24hr Rush
Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

24 Hour Rush – Join Liam Rushmer, owner of Fitness Rush, and Michael Thelwall, Head of Community Fundraising (South) for the Brain Tumour Research charity taking part in a huge 24-hour fitness to beat brain tumours. You can join in by cycling, rowing or running for a set amount of time chosen by you. Simply start a JustGiving page, aim to reach £100 and let Michael know the times that you want to be involved in. We’re aiming to beat the distances set out below. Come along and help us destroy our targets!

Cycle: The cycle ride will be completed on stationary exercise bikes and see riders completing the distance between John O'Groats to Dover. Each rider will be asked to ride for two consecutive hours at a pace of 80 rpm. This time can be split between people if you wanted to bring a friend.

Row: The distance between Dover and Calais, then back to Dover will be completed on one rowing machine and need individuals to row 5000 metres consecutively in under 30 minutes.

Run: Calais to Paris is the route for our run and would see each participant walking, jogging or running for an hour each at over 4 mph. The distance will be shared between two treadmills and obviously, the faster we run, the quicker we can complete the distance and maybe help out with the biking.
