Yes, you can join the challenge as part of a team. We recommend using JustGiving or signing up via the Brain Tumour Research website to do so.
JustGiving Team Pages allow you and your friends to join your individual fundraising pages together to contribute to an overall total. They're great if you want to raise money separately whilst still contributing to a larger team goal. Remember to ask each of your teammates to include how many keepy uppies they are pledging on their JustGiving page, and to fill in their email and postal address when prompted so we know where to send the medals and fundraising packs.
A JustGiving Team page will list each individual fundraising page and the collective total you’ve raised for Brain Tumour Research together.
You can also register via our website. Just fill in the short form by clicking here, let us know that you are signing up on behalf of a team and confirm how many keepy uppies your team is pledging towards our goal of one million. You can then pay in any funds that you raise by clicking here.
Teams need to raise a minimum of £100 collectively to receive up to 15 medals and fundraising packs.
If you wish to fundraise via Facebook, each person in your team needs to register under their own name and set up a Facebook Fundraiser. Once an individual person has registered, set up their Facebook Fundraiser and received their first £10 donation, it will trigger the free gift to be sent to them.
This challenge, and our Facebook Challenge Group, has been set up for people fundraising for Brain Tumour Research. This challenge is all about a group working towards a common goal – to raise vital funds and awareness to find a cure for brain tumours. These challenges take a lot of time and resources for us to run, and we run the risk of losing money if the funds raised are going to a completely separate organisation.
If you’d like to fundraise for a different cause, we recommend getting in touch with that cause directly and asking them what is the best way you can support them.
Once you have successfully registered, pledged your keepy uppies and set up your Facebook Fundraiser or JustGiving page – that’s when the fun really starts!
If you are taking part as an individual, raise just £10 and we’ll send you a FREE tournament medal as well as a bumper fundraising pack which will contain your keepy uppy tracker, World Cup match planner and lots more! You’ll also have access to an online digital fundraising pack to help with your fundraising.
Taking part as a team? Raise £100 together and you’ll be sent up to 15 FREE medals dependent on the size of your team.
Everyone who goes on to raise £100 or more will automatically be entered into an exciting prize draw to win lots of football merchandise.
If you are getting involved in the challenge using Facebook, and you register under a name that is different to your name on Facebook, please include BOTH in the sign up form where indicated. Failure to do this will mean you will not receive your free medal and printed tracker in the post, because we won’t be able to match your Facebook Fundraiser to a registration form.
Raising your first £10 triggers us sending your FREE medal and fundraising pack. If you are taking part in this challenge via Facebook, you need to have registered and set up your Facebook Fundraiser. If you are using JustGiving, you need to have set up your JustGiving page and filled your email and postal address. If you are fundraising via our website, you need to have filled in the short form here.
You can get your Facebook Fundraiser or JustGiving page started by donating yourself or you can ask friends, family or colleagues to donate to your page too.

Once you have raised your first £10, your FREE medal, tracker and fundraising pack will be sent out to you. Please allow 10 working days for your free goodies to arrive with you. This accounts for any potential delays in the postal system.

How do I manage my fundraising page and increase donations?
If you can’t find your Facebook Fundraiser on your Facebook profile page, please visit www.facebook.com/fundraisers/manage
Once you have set up your Facebook Fundraiser, please check your page to ensure it has been set up correctly. If required, you can edit the title and the end date of your fundraiser. To do this click ‘edit’.
You will see the option ‘What’s the title of your fundraiser?’ Please edit that (if not done already) to ‘One Million Keepy Uppy Challenge’.
You will also see the option ‘When should your fundraiser end?’ – please ensure your fundraiser is set up to end on 2nd January 2023 or it will close automatically two weeks from the date you set it up. Once a fundraiser is closed, it cannot be reopened.
The video below shows you how to edit your fundraiser:
If you have set up your Facebook Fundraiser for a different charity, don’t worry! Please end that fundraiser and set up a new one for Brain Tumour Research here: https://givp.nl/register/R8k0qYmV
Remember to include ‘One Million Keepy Uppy Challenge’ in your title and edit your end date to be 25nd January 2023 if not done already.
Once you have set up your Facebook Fundraiser for Brain Tumour Research, completed the sign-up form and got your first £10 donations on your Facebook Fundraiser, your FREE medal and printed tracker will be sent to you.
Important, please read in full: If you have already received donations on your Facebook Fundraiser for a different charity, please contact them and ask them to send the money to Brain Tumour Research the money, so we can attribute these funds to you and include in your overall fundraising total. Please send them this link to pay us the funds.
The other charity will receive those funds after you’ve closed the Facebook Fundraiser. They are the only ones who can send it to us on your behalf.
Unless you extend the end date, a Facebook Fundraiser will close automatically two weeks from the date you set it up. Once a Facebook Fundraiser has ended, it cannot be restarted, but don’t worry. Please just set up a new Facebook Fundraiser for Brain Tumour Research here: https://givepanel.me/fb/jba7llCV
Remember to include ‘One Million Keepy Uppy Challenge’ in your title and edit the end date to be 2nd January 2023, if not already.
If you have set up multiple Facebook Fundraisers, don’t worry. We will be able to attribute the funds from both pages to you internally to give you a combined total for your challenge. Please email us at keepyuppy@braintumourresearch.org and we can ensure this is done for you.
Sometimes Facebook will charge £0.73 when you make a donation to validate if the Facebook account making the payment is real. However, the £0.73 should go back into your account quite quickly after. If not, please contact Facebook to assist.
Once you have set up your JustGiving page, you can edit details by clicking the ‘Edit your page’ button at the top of the page. You can edit the title of your page, fundraising target, page summary and information.
Please remember to include the number of keepy uppies you are pledging on your JustGiving page so we can add these to our overall total.
If you have set up your JustGiving page for a different charity, don’t worry! You can end that fundraising page by clicking the ‘Edit your page’ button. Then go to ‘Settings’ and select ‘Cancel my JustGiving page’.
You can then set up a JustGiving page for Brain Tumour Research here: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/1MillionKeepyUppyChallenge2022
Please remember to include your email and postal address when you set up your JustGiving page so we know where to send your FREE medal and fundraising pack when you get to £10 in donations.
Important, please read in full: If you have already received donations on your JustGiving page for a different charity, please contact them and ask them to send the money to Brain Tumour Research the money, so we can attribute these funds to you and include in your overall fundraising total. Please send them this link to pay us the funds.
The other charity will receive those funds after you’ve closed the JustGiving page. They are the only ones who can send it to us on your behalf.
Here are some top tips to help you raise your first £10 (and more) and trigger your FREE medal and printed tracker:
- Donate to your own Facebook Fundraiser or JustGiving page to get it off the mark (Facebook recommends this too!) as this will encourage others to donate too and help you achieve your goal
- Share your Facebook Fundraiser or JustGiving page on all of your social platforms with your colleagues, friends and family, letting them know why you are taking on the challenge and explaining that they can support you and donate in just a few clicks
- Invite people to your Facebook Fundraiser using the ‘invite’ button at the top of your fundraising page
- Click the ‘Share’ button on your JustGiving page to easily share it via Facebook, Twitter, email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Facebook Messenger
You can find your Facebook Fundraiser page anytime by clicking here: http://www.facebook.com/fundraisers/manage
For more top fundraising tips throughout the challenge, head to our friendly Facebook Group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1358070148057441 and download your FREE digital fundraising pack by clicking here.
It’s a proven fact that the more you share your fundraising page across your own social platforms, the more successful you will be with your fundraising.
- Click the ‘share’ button which you’ll see at the top of your Facebook Fundraiser and follow the steps to post it to your own Facebook page and/or copy and paste the link (URL) to share it via email, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp or any other social platforms to ask for donations from specific friends, family or colleagues.
- Click the ‘Share’ button on your JustGiving page to easily share a link to it via Facebook, Twitter, email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Facebook Messenger – explain your challenge to your loved ones and ask them to donate to support you
- If you have a personal connection to brain tumours which you don’t mind sharing, tell your story on your social media channels and on your fundraising page as you ask for donations – when your friends and family see how much raising vital funds for this cause means to you, they will be inspired to support you
- As you start the One Million Keepy Uppy Challenge for Brain Tumour Research remember to post about it on your own social media with photos of you taking part, share how you’ve completed so far and include the link to your fundraising page whilst asking people to donate
- Post photos of your printed tracker with daily or weekly milestones achieved – you could even encourage people to join you explaining that there are so many easy ways they can get involved in the challenge and raise vital funds
- Don’t forget to share a photo of you in your FREE medal – which will be sent when you raise £10 – and let people know why you are supporting Brain Tumour Research
In order for Brain Tumour Research to claim Gift Aid on donations to your Facebook Fundraiser, we need you to encourage your donors to tick the Gift Aid option when making their donation to your fundraising page – if they are eligible. They’ll then be prompted to enter their details by Facebook which will allow Brain Tumour Research to claim Gift Aid on their behalf.
If you are fundraising via JustGiving, your donors will need to select ‘Yes, add Gift Aid’ when they make a donation to your page.
Any cash donations that you collect throughout your challenge should be listed on a Brain Tumour Research Sponsorship Form which you can find in your digital fundraising pack here.
The key information we need in order to be able to claim Gift Aid is the name of the taxpayer, house number and postcode. Unfortunately, we can’t claim Gift Aid on group donations – it has to be from an individual. You can send your completed sponsorship form to us via post at the end of your challenge. Alternatively, a scanned copy or photo of the sponsorship form is also fine provided we can easily read the above details.
If you can no longer take part in the One Million Keepy Uppy Challenge, don’t worry. If you’ve already registered you don’t need to do anything, nothing will happen.
If you have already opened a Facebook Fundraiser or JustGiving page, you can choose to keep this open and continue to collect donations to help fund the fight against brain tumours or close it if you would prefer
How you submit your keepy uppy pledge depends on how you are fundraising:
- If you are fundraising on Facebook you will be asked to pledge how many keepy uppies you plan to do throughout your challenge when you complete the registration form
- If you are fundraising via JustGiving please include how many keepy uppies you are pledging in your JustGiving page ‘story’ – we will manually add these to our overall total
- If you are fundraising offline you need to fill in this short form on our website and include how many keepy uppies you are pledging
From there, it’s up to you how you complete your keepy uppies and whether you break down your total number or complete them in one go.
When you raise £10, you will be sent a printed tracker where you can log your keepy uppies to help you keep track. In the meantime, you can also access a digital version of the tracker here.
Don’t forget to share your progress with your friends and family on your personal Facebook page to help encourage donations too!
Interact with your fellow challengers by joining our friendly Facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1358070148057441

We understand that not everyone has a Facebook account or there will be those that wish to donate in cash and that’s no problem! You can still collect donations from those people.
In your digital fundraising pack ,which you can download here, you can download an offline donations form (sponsorship form). This is a great tool to carry with you to collect on the spot donations. Any offline donations will be added to your overall fundraising total at the end of your challenge to give you one overall total.
You can pay these donations in routinely or altogether using the link here.
Please ensure your name and ‘One Million Keepy Uppy Challenge’ are always quoted as a reference so we can add these funds to your total.
Alternatively, for those who are happy to donate via card, but do not have a Facebook account, you can set up a JustGiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/1MillionKeepyUppyChallenge2022
A JustGiving link can also be shared via WhatsApp, text message and email.
No, Facebook only shows donations collected on their platform on your Facebook Fundraiser. But don’t panic! We can attribute the funds you have raised outside of Facebook to you and your personal fundraising total.
Offline donations can be paid in here. In order to attribute these funds to your fundraising, we require you and your donors to reference your name and the ‘One Million Keepy Uppy Challenge’ in the comments box so our Finance team can allocate them correctly. If this is done, our Finance team will be able to attribute your offline donations along with your Facebook Fundraiser to give you a combined final total at the end of your challenge.
You can add any offline donations you have received to your JustGiving page total by clicking the ‘Edit your page’ option. You then need to select the ‘Donations’ heading and input the total amount of offline donations you have received.
Please note, you need to pay in offline donations via our website. You can pay these in here.
You can pay in any offline donations that you have received for your One Million Keepy Uppy Challenge for Brain Tumour Research here: https://www.braintumourresearch.org/fundraise/keepy-uppy-challenge/pay-in-your-money
Please ensure that you quote your full name in all correspondence so we can identify your donation and attribute it to your fundraising total.
If you have any cheques to pay in, please send us the cheque along with your full contact details (full name and salutation, address and postcode, a contact phone number and email address) so we can send you a thank you email or letter.
