APPGBT Inquiry 2018 - Terms of Reference
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer
Terms of Reference
The Inquiry will seek to better understand the true cost of brain tumours in the UK, for patients and their families and on the NHS, from the appearance of symptoms right through to treatment and beyond. The key questions are:
- What are the social and financial impacts on families affected by a brain tumour diagnosis in both the short and long term, including the lead into diagnosis itself and any resultant brain injury? How is this different for younger people?
- What is the typical relationship and interaction of families affected by a brain tumour diagnosis on NHS and social care services and can this be costed?
- What pressures will the rising incidence of brain tumours have on the NHS, social care and other public services?
- What measures could be implemented to reduce the social and financial impact of this disease, including the better use of data?
