Join in the Fun: Host a World Cup Fundraiser and Help Feed Vital Research
With World Cup fever growing across the nation, plan a party to enjoy the great game whilst fundraising for a worthy cause – sustainable scientific research to find a cure for the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40!
"Emlyn would have loved this idea - have a party, watch football, and raise money for a wonderful cause - one that is so close to my family’s heart." - Barbara Hughes.
It’s a game of two halves: you could plan a quick win of £50 or bet on netting £500 – or really get stuck in and aim for more! Whatever your goal, Host for Hope: Game On! is a great way to get involved and raise vital funds to feed research whilst enjoying all the sporting action. Gather with your friends, family or colleagues for a Game On! party event and set your fundraising targets. The sky’s the limit!

Three footie-tastic posters for you, including Game On! General, Game On! Statistics and Game On! Empty Belly - this one specially designed for you to add in the details of your World Cup fundraiser event before you print it. Once you've downloaded the poster, open the file in Adobe Reader and enter your details. Save it to your computer and then print it. (Of course you can still download and add details by hand - whichever you prefer).
All posters can be printed at A4 or A3 max. Any paper works but we think 120gsm gloss paper make them look much, much better!
Blow the whistle on brain tumours! Our sweepstakes are really fun and simple to use. The first three sweepstakes are based on England's three games in the first round stage. The fouth sweepstake is for the ultimate challenge to guess the overall winner of the World Cup!
Simply choose an amount - £1, £2 or £5 per choice. Then ask your participants to pick the time of the first goal at random, and encourage the winner to give a percentage of their jackpot to help fund vital research.

Getting the Media Involved
Most of the fundraising events people hold for us come about because of personal experiences with or connections to someone who has been affected by a brain tumour. It’s these stories which when featured in local news truly inspire people to donate and motive others to get involved and help fund the fight.
No matter where you’re based, the local media are always interested in a good news story where an individual or group has raised money for vital research.
So here are some templates for use in getting your message out there to the media. Simply edit and delete where indicated on these templates, then save and send to your local newspaper, TV or radio station. A quick search on Google should help you find the relevant contacts for media in your area.
